OK so here is the deal.. Last summer while I was driving the streets my check engine light came on bla bla code P 0473 which indicates TCC ( Torque conver clutch selonoid/ open circut) I checked all conncections to find one was unpluged dialectric greased it and pluged it back in.. so This summer well yesterday. I was driving around enjoying the weather when instead of the jeep running at 210 it was around 235. No big deal considering I was stop and go and in was around 90 with no breeze all day. Well here is the big thinker the light came back on with the same code. I then checked all connections cleaned and greased them which none were bad and reconnected every thing and reset the light. Now this only seems to come on when the temp goes beyond 210. Now this thing shifts fine through the gears and into over dive with no hesitations and there is no slipping even on hard acceleration. I doubt it is the seleniods because Ive had this problem before and if it was a short there would be a blown fuse or it would be shifting in and out of overdrive while in 3rd gear.. I also checked the trans fluid last weekend before the trip and the color was an off red. Now as of today it is a dark brown with foam. Now Im thinking next weekend changing the fluid filter cleaning the magnet adding a deeper pan to hold an extra 2 qts of synthetic fluid and plumbing up a bigger trans cooler and still utilizing the stock one to help cool things down. any opinions or suggestions on this would be appreciated... -Dan in philly
