No light comes on when in 4hi or lo and after messing with it I think the transfer case isn't disengaging when I shift into 2wd. Is there anything I can do to be sure whether or not it's still engaged? I took a look at the front drive shaft and went around the parking lot at work and it seems like it's spinnning. I tried shifting while moving and backing up after shifting into 2wd. It's a 04 tj sport 5speed. Any help would be greatly appreiated. Thanks Steve

I'm an idiot. The front shafts gonna spin anyway right? It finally disengaged with a small clunk. Still no light tho.

Don't worry about the light mine hasn't worked since it had 5000 miles on it! You can check the light by holding in the odometer button and turn the key to the on position this will test all the lights and gauges!

If the indicator lamp is good, then you might have a defective TC sensor. The sensor is NOT a simple switch, but a gizzmo that changes resistance depending on the TC lever position. The PCM reads this device and send a command to the cluster to light the 4wd light. Check and see if it is plugged in....
