Quick question. I already have a stability sticker on the General, it's now almost time to get the dreaded state inspection for the first time since said stability test. Since it has already been tilted do I have to go back to Winslow, or can I go to my private inspection station and get just the safety and emission inspections done there? Or do the stickers have to match in some way? Thanx guys.

The stability test is a one time deal! You should be able to inspect anywhere.

As long as you made no changes since said test,,and tire size is the same you should have no trouble going to any inspection station.

If I'm not mistaken if you sell the jeep the test papers stay with it.

Wellllll, it was stability tested at 32 1/2" to the bottom of the door when I had my 34's and stock shackles. Let's just say that it is 3 1/2" taller to the door now. I have someone that ummmm ohhhh uhhhh will misread the tape measure, if I only need to have the safety and emissions inspection. Otherwise I have to swap my smaller tires and shackles back temporarily...uhhh permanently...yeah that's it, permanently. Knock on wood, I have never had any issue with the law and my stability papers, having even been pulled over a couple of times for dumb stuff like a burned out light. So the stability sticker stays just like it is? And the safety and emissions sticker geets changed just like a normal inspection? I think I don't get hassled because it doesn't look insanely over the limit, ya know?

One of the guys I work with never changes anything and has to go every 2 years for the test. And they have changed it recently from what he was saying . He just went a month or so ago. Had to make the appointment over a month in advance just to get in.

Personally, I'd find a local garage that does inspections rather than deal with aggrevation your gonna get at a DMV station.
