I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0 liter engine. It runs fine at idle. You rev the engine and it doesn't not hesitate at all. Even when you crack the throttle it responds right away. I don't use gas with that poison ethanol in it. I also test gas before I purchase it. I have what they call a gasahol tester. It has no ethanol in it. When I drove down the road about a mile and a half it starts to stumble and tries to stall. It also bucks a little not much. What is the deal with Jeep and their powertrain control modules? I opened mine up and there is this crap covering the circuit board? What's that all about? What scanner besides a DRB can you use on a OBD I vehicle. I have a square connector that it connects to the test tool.

I would start with changing the fuel filter and my be even the fuel pump,,,check to see what kind of fuel pressure you have at the fuel rail,,,
With the vacuum hose connected it should be==31psi With it disconnected it should be==39psi
