What happen to the Wave??? Took the jeep out today for a ride top off no doors,,pasted like 8 jeeps and NO ONE waved Are they to good to wave,,or just down right rude??? I will keep on waving no matter what,,I think when jeep sells a rig it should be instructed that you must do the wave or bad things will happen to your rig!!

I've been on Cherokeetalk and Jeep Forums and the wave is apparently overrated and nobody cares about it anymore. When someone starts a thread about it, other guys chime in and actually get a little ticked because so many people started threads about it. They're response is who cares get over it. Guess the times have changed or something. I never know when to wave either. Sometimes people look at you funny when you do it. Hey, you wrangler guys don't like waving at us XJ guys anyway. hahaha! ;D

I enjoy the wave myself as I'm sure we all do. I was just relaying back what I've seen on other forums. It's just sad that people lost that "Jeep Thing" somewhere along the lines.

I've been on Cherokeetalk and Jeep Forums and the wave is apparently overrated and nobody cares about it anymore. They dont care about it because they are not REAL JEEP People!!! Im with muddin,,,I wave to all jeeps and for the most part its the JK people that are above the wave!!! Respect the Wave!!

I just moved out of Philly into a Delaware county area and I see allot of lifted TJ's and a couple JK's, But when they see my heavily modified XJ, I see their jaws drop like what is that. So I just wave and laugh then move on. But I will say one thing. I am not above the wave and will wave to all and if I don't wave, it means I just did not see the other jeep.

I tend to give more of a thumbs up than the wave anyway. I seem to get a better response. It's the acknowledgement that counts. You'll see what I mean about other forums and their posts. This is just one link I found. Some of these guys are pretty brutal. www.jeepforum.com/forum/f176/jeep-wave-1158457/

copyed from jeepForum!!! Like i siad all ready ;D
I think its just some people think their special (rode the short buss) and are too good to wave. YOU CAN BUY A NEW JEEP. BUT it don't come with manners, SHOULDA LISTENED TO YOUR MOTHER. SHE TRIED. I'm proud of my YJ! sorry abt those who aren't proud of their ride.

As a JK owner, I have to say that I wave to every Jeep, and get about a 90% WBR (wave-back rate...it's a real measurement, look it up). Since many JK owners are new to the Jeep world, I see that many get a kick out of the wave...but I would hope that they know to wave to all Jeeps, and not just their model. Maybe its those 2011 JK owners, with the fancy interiors, who think they're above it. I love it, and my kids keep tabs as we see a Jeep coming our way..."think you'll get a wave-back dad??" I agree with Waterman, maybe the dealers should supply buyers with a full tank of gas and instructions on the wave before leaving the lot.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I waited too long to get a Jeep to NOT wave at every one that I pass in mine. THIS JK owner waves like a...he waves a lot!
