so i got my eye on a 92 yj. 4.0L auto, hardtop/softtop, full and half doors, 100k miles and its under $3000. looking for some opinions judging by what ive been finding it seems like a good deal for a stock unmolested jeep. but of course that will change once i get it in my possession ;D

yea leaf springs dont bother me. my dad had a 4in lifted yj on bds suspension and even though it was a pretty rough ride it wasnt unbearable. i plan on going to look at it tonight. only problems i know about it are that there is some rust on the driver side floor pan but he is going to give me the replacement panel if i buy the jeep and there is a small dent on the rear passenger corner next to the tailgate. if they end up being the only 2 problems i should be bringing it home tonight. if i do ill post up some pics.

Go for it We bought ours for 1800.00 & haven't had any mech. problems at all Do think to long they dont last at that price

yea and hes flexible on the price so of course im going to get home down a few hundred haha. he sent me a pic of the floor its pretty bad but he does have the pan to weld in so theres no worries with it. i can have that fixed tomorrow if i really wanted. chip when you read this i want to ask you some questions about the RC lift you put on your yj cause ive been pricing lifts incase i buy this and price wise the RC 4in kit looks like the best bang for the buck and if i remember right thats what you put on yours.

Hey steve,,,1 thing to look at is the frame in the rear by the spring hangers,,, use a screw driver to check the frame they are know to rust from the inside out there.
As for lift ,,past rigs i've had the RC on and had springs break they didnt stand behind the products so ill never buy there stuff again.
On the present yj im running the R.E. H.D. lift a little stiff at first but the springs setteled a little and the rides not to bad now.

When i bought my lift i think it was around $950 or something like that it's been a little over 4 years now. I pay for my sticker,,i dont go to the inspection station,, i think it would pass thou.

so looks like ill be passing on the yj. the motor has a piston knock so thats a chance i dont feel like taking.

What's wrong with the XJ and why are you trying to get rid of it ? It's a nice rig, not a money pit like a Wrangler. I'd keep it if I were you, but that's just my opinion.

im bored the with xj. ive been bored with it for a while. ive always wanted a wrangler even before i bought the xj. the only reason reason i picked it up it cause of the deal i got on it. dont get me wrong i do like the xj just a wrangler is what i really want. the jeep is up at tracys auto sales right now and im selling my quad. after seling both of them i should have between 6000 and 7000. if you like it that much chip ill trade you for your tj ;D
