If your gonna get a rig tuned the Galaxy is the best bet. After a radio gets tuned it gets very sensitive. The galaxy seems to handle this the best. If you want power, get a 10 meter rig and have it tuned for CB frequency it should push 150 watts and boost modulation plus give you a ham band on top of it. The CB frequency is so noisy to begin with it takes a lot of power to get out far. 150 watts should with a tuned antenna take you 30 miles on channel 19 which is the worst. More watts needs a lot more power from your battery system too. You would be amazed when you key up on a high watt system the power it uses. You then also get any little grounding issue you can imagine.. Once you figure every out you can talk on top of anyone. This is the place to go www.claysradioshop.com
