I looked around for a new driver side axle shaft for my 2001 TJ Dana 30. I found a set for sale on ebay. The seller said it was for TJ but it looks to small compared to the ones on my jeep and the loaner one I had. See Picture (Gray on I got on ebay and other on is loaner) Can any one tell me by the picture what year Dana 30 this will fit.

Paul That is a strange observation about the metal shield. That top axle is bone stock 2004 D30 with only a new u-joint installed. The shield is oriented the same as the passengers side axle. (trail spare) I did a quick look around the popular Jeep sites and found about a 50-50 mix on the metal shield orientation. On my new new Alloy axle's the shields are oriented opposite the OEM’s; so now I am really confused. I wonder if this was a factor with why my unit bearings went bad?
