Sorry folks, email address went bad. Try sschweitzer@macdermid.com.
O.K. don't know whats wrong with winch. It is likely electrical. It has a remote. One of the wires pulled out of the plug for the remote. The winch is old. I am going with a cheap chinese winch or a super winch 8500. It has a kink in the cable and would require the cable be shorten 6 inches. I have new clamps and hook. It could be the ground, the motor or the solinoids. IT would cost $500 to replace all the electrical parts. The winch has been repeately dunked in the water. The motor has never been off.

I would like to see some pictures to see if I can use it as a parts winch, is it a Warn or that other older brand? does the remote plug into the front of the plastic cover or the side? I think I'll e-mail.

I don't have any real good pictures. It is a warn. Nothing mechanical is wrong. it could be as simple as a bad ground. I am tired of messing with it! If you are in SJ you can come look at it.

That's a really nice looking '5. . . does the winch come with remote, fairlead? how about the mounting plate? I have a 14 in. single electric fan out of a taurus, works pretty good. I'll try to post pictures this week.

I'm sure this thing moves that and more, it kept a 4.0 happy for years, those engines run pretty hot. As for the exact rating? I don't really know, you have to consider radiator resistance and other conditions. I'll try to post pictures this weekend. Are you including roller fairlead, mounting plate, remote? Thanks
