1987 Wrangler YJ has a 4.2L w/ Weber carb, no pollution controls at all. B&M TH400 trans. 1. I have the canister to plumb. I have the line to the fuel tank connected & I have the large line going to the fitting on the bottom of the air cleaner on the Weber. Where should the 3rd line go? 2. Trans has a braided steel hose, (with a cable inside), that comes from the trans on the right front corner above the pan (as you're looking from the tailshaft). B&M has no idea what it was for. Does anyone here know what it may have been for? End of hose has been cut off & is leaking ATF. 3. My rocker cover is a Clifford 6=8 aluminum cover. It was leaking on the right side, between the 2 bolt holes, as you're facing the engine. I tried to snug down the bolts, but the 1st bolt on the right wouldn't tighten up. I removed the rocker cover to find the 1st hole on the right has no threads. Is this hole supposed to be threaded? If it's supposed to be threaded, how deep is the hole. I only have about 1/4". I'd need to drill deeper to tap it. Can I drill deeper w/o messing anything up? Thanks guys Pics here: www.delawareja.com/gallery2/main.php/v/cdlongjr/?action=gallery

I had a 400 trans in a Corvette. It had fluid in,fluid out and the shift cable. Now the line that you are talking about could possibly be the feed to a dash mounted guage. The 400 trans has an electrical switch at the accelerator pedal that gets set to kick down the trans

Thats a Throttle pressure cable has to hook up to carb linkage and it`s not a 400 looks like a TH-350 from the little I can see. TH-400 does not have this cable.

Also since you will have to change the cable you do so by removing the bolt and pulling what you are calling the braided hose out of the trans case, you may have to wiggle it a little it has a o-ring around the bottom than can be tight sometimes, any way pull the outter casing up a few in. you will see a small rod sticking up that has a Z bend the cable end has a eye ,just slip the eye off and you reverse to install

Thanks for all the help. Tranny isn't stock, somewhere in time she was changed from a manual to an auto. Pedals are still there.
