They will not work on stock axles on a yj,,dont let him tell you different!!! The only way they work on the YJ Axles is if you do the TJ Axle swap out!!

SO, if you upgrade to TJ axles, do you do away with the disconnect altogether?

Man, the wheels are turning now, so all the vacuum lines, the motor, the shift fork and all that crap could be done away with? Just pull the shifter and its in 4wheel? Do they make a block-off plate for the shift motor? And where can I get a hold of some tj axles? Used is fine with me!

Well its not just pull the axles and slide new ones in,,,you have to change the seals,,,the driver side stays the same,,but the pass. side is different than stock,,,I Have all the part #'s for the seals you need,,,you stil have to pul the diff. out to install the seals. Most axle sets come with the block off plate, some come with the seals you need and others dont. When i picked up my set i bought the us alloy axles and they didnt come with the seals. If you find a set of Used TJ axles just make sure the spline count is the same. And yes you can toss all that un need crap in the T-can

Thanks for all the advice guys. I think that upgrading to tj axles is the way to go. How many different spline counts are there? Would I have to pull the axles and physically count the splines to know for sure? Looks like I'll be in the market for some axles. Waterman, roughly what did the swap cost you, if you dont mind me asking?

If im not mistaken, 93-96' XJ axles will also work, as they did away with the disconnect in 93....they should be easier to find in a boneyard than TJ parts. Just make sure you dont pull any from a 97 or newer, they are 29 spline... Rich
