What's up, dawgs? Congrats to Grass Roots on a crazy fun two-day event. I had a great time. I don't drink wine, but the vineyard was awesome. It was a great backdrop for the show. And it's always cool to see a mix of Jeeps, from the one's who add cool accessories, like the beer bottle gear shifter, to the ones that build up so high that you need mountain climbing gear to get in and out of them, like the General Jeep. (The check is "in the mail," John! You can drop it off to my house any time! Congrats to all the show winners. And the raffle winners too. The minute I bought my raffle tickets, I felt I had a winner in my hands. I told everybody which one of my tickets was going to be a winner and sure enough, it was. Which confirms that I have amazing psychic powers! So next year, I'll volunteer to set up a psychic booth where I will tell everyone their future for free! Hahaha. Just kidding. I'm going to charge you all $10 a pop. Hahahaha. Just kidding. But anyway, I can't wait to use my CSE gift certificate. I never saw that website before, so their sponsorship paid off. I will be racking up some credit card debt at that site for sure. And yes, I did text Mandala to let him know that he won one too. But that doesn't mean I will ever give it to him! lol. Hey, I just noticed this counter on the website counting down the number of characters I have available in my post! What's this? I only have 58,885 left!?!?! Oh no! I can't say ANYTHING in less that 100,000 characters! So this post may have to be considered part 1 in a series. lol. But I digress. The trail ride on Sunday was a lot of fun too. I didn't think I was going to be able to drive Wally because his brake pads were shot, so I have to give a shout out to Kevin and Dana, who not only had a spare set in their Jeep that fit Wally, but they also offered to install them for me right there in the parking lot of the ranger station. You guys rock! Thanks again! Your next pitcher of beer at the Pic is on me!!! Usually, monster runs turn out to be a monster disaster. But even though there were over 25 vehicles in our group at one point, I think things went remarkably well. That says a lot about the character of the people that Grass Roots attracts. I don't think I saw even one bonehead out on the trails. I was fully expecting to leave early when I saw the size of that group, but I stuck it out to the end because things were going so well. And yeah, we got a little lost in the dark coming home at the end. But it happens. No big whoop. Nobody wound up getting eaten by any deformed woodland cannibal dwellers. And it was nothing that a few GPS units couldn't resolve. And it certainly wasn't anything to mar the accomplishment of being able to keep such a large group together and prevent it from turning into a giant pile of trailside carnage and chaos. I don't know if people really appreciate how out-of-control a group that size can get and how many things could potentially go wrong. So keeping things safe and orderly was nothing short of amazing. So Dom, James and all the various other people who had the tail end deserve some credit for doing a great job with that. I don't really know who was at the end most of the time since I couldn't see that far back. lol. I just remember looking in my rearview mirror and seeing so many lights that it looked like I was at the front end of a traffic jam on Rt. 70. lol. So I don't know... maybe you guys at the end had a different experience. But things were great up at the front. lol I can't wait to see the pictures of all the Jeeps lined up at "The Top of the World. I'll be checking my video footage soon. I'll be making a DVD. If anybody thinks they might be on it and wants a copy, let me know.

Great Two Day Event... Little Long for a Sunday but it was worth it when you get to cover a commander in mud and have her on three or two wheels at a time...
Had a great Time and will be sure not to miss something like this again.
Till next time...
The big white XK.
