At least in this story, they acknowledged the clean up and used a responsible 4 wheeler to interview for the story. It was nowhere near as negative as the televised story. On that note, I was out on sunday with muddyyj, and a few other people and we did a little cleanup around some of the spots, we bagged up as much trash as 4 jeeps could hold and took it to the dumpster at the ranger station. Every little bit helps.... I wouldnt be a part of this club if protecting the pines wasnt part of our mission! Its sad that we have to do this in the first place, but at least we're not the ones adding to the problem!

I cant help but feeling like the fact that people post videos of every aspect of a wheeling trip all over youtube and facebook are just fueling the fire for people who think that four wheeling is destroying the pine barrens! What else are the tree huggers to think when they watch endless videos of dozens of jeeps going through flooded roads and water crossings! We all know that driving on the roads that have been there well over 100 years isnt going to change the ecology of the pines, but lets keep what we do and dont do out there between us wheelers! It just gives them easy ammo to use against us! Posting pictures of a trailride is one thing, but save the video camera for the kids birthday party! Sorry if it sounds harsh, but its only adding to the problem, every blog or forum you read about the wheeling in the pines, always includes a link to a youtube video of someone wheeling! People have been wheeling for years out there, and it seems in the last 20 years, everyone who owns a video camera feels the need to post it all over the internet! Its not helping anything!

I was eating breakfast in Jackson Sunday at work. I opened the Jackson times and what did I find on the fifth page. Yup another article about the Scar. This is getting out of hand.

I just can't believe this. I think it's funny because if you have the hottest summer on record with little rain your not going to have water there. Were in drought conditions! I can't wait until it rains and rains hard!!

this is why we are all getting nuts for this .. cause of this person
“We get tickets back there all the time, we pay them and keep wheeling,” reads one. “My truck is by far the most illegal thing to drive on the road, but I do, cuz I want to play in the mud. Point is … that we want to do it and no one will stop us.”
why would you say that knowing there on everyone for riding in the forrest .. and the dumb ass award goes to

The reason they say these thing's is that they go out at night and there's no patrols at night! Then we take the flack for this!

Exactly! I watched some of the links...one even implies that off roaders left a BOAT there. We must have REMOVED a boat every d**n year as far back as I can remember at the Oct clean-ups. They show a rutted field, and say it used to be a pond....come ON....it used to be a DIRT ROAD. grrrrrr Anyway, the few "Hold my beer and watch this!" A-Holes that DO tear the place up, and the A-holes who dump their trash and beer bottles, used vibrators, demolition debris and so forth..... should be shot....for selfishness. In fact, I vote to make the shooting part of the annual clean up ceremony back at the Pic.
