Hey everyone. Wife and I are wanting to camp at Wharton near the trails. I read that there are $2 primitive sites. Does anyone know anything about these? Maybe get a few people together. Just a thought.

Good morning Deane and Priscilla. We love to camp. Our, primitive, on the ground days are numbered. Any-who, we would love to discuss this subject with ya, in person. Hope to see you both at the picnic. Chuck and Linda

Hey guys sounds like fun to us. Percilla and I use to do a lot of backpacking all light weight stuff. So we are up to a little more, We still like our (what we call) class A.... which means hotel...LOL I actually have been looking at the teardrop trailers, light enough to pull behind the jeep and make it 4wd worthy.

I'd be up for a camping trip! I would do it early fall! Less bugs and cooler temps.

Linda and I went past Chatsworth today. Scoped out the State Park, Godfrey Bridge Campsite, primitive, but currently closed for the season for renovations. Could have bought our 18 foot camper. Sure there are others. Anyone else have any primitive sites in Wharton that they are familiar? HOPE ALL HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

We loaded up the jeep yesterday for an adventure and explore the area some more. Top down, wind blowing through my hair (no comments now) a hot lady beside me soaking up the sun, how lucky can I be..... We went to Batsto and walked around the village, which was interesting. While there we asked about the primitive campsites. We ended up at a $2.00 campsite called Buttonwood. It had 4 sites with picnic tables and fire rings. They also had one outhouse. It is located on RT542 across from Crowleys landing boat launch and picnic area which have nice restrooms that we used. We pitched the tent and headed to a recommended restaurant called Breeze's located in New Gretna beside the Viking Boat MFG. on the water, had a brew and a salad. Left there and went into Tuckerton for a look see. The street was lined up with people waiting for the fireworks to begin. Went back to camp relaxed looking at the stars and called it a night. Woke up to thunder and rain. Went to Hammonton ate breakfast at the diner hoping the rain would stop... no such luck, just got worse. So tore down camp in the rain and made it back home... drying me and everything else out... Lots of laughter and memories again on our adventure.... not a bad day to start me B-Day off... LOL
Chuck, i thought about calling you since you mentioned that you were headed that way. I couldn't find your number. Next time.
Everyone stay safe on the roads..

In my experience the best camping trips end in the rain!

Linda and I took a ride Sunday. Even had to do it in her car as the jeep is still up in Bloomsburg. I won't leave it again for two weeks in the summer, although as hot as it has been the last week or so, I am not sure it has been great weather in an open jeep as hot as it has been. Anyhow we found Buttonwood Hill Campground, it seems to us to be a great campsite. Some canoeing friends of ours seem interested, since it is so close to the Mullica. Our weekends are booked in August. We have a few free weekends until we are busy the last two weekends in Sept. ANYONE INTERESTED IN CAMPING AT BUTTONWOOD SEPT 3, 10 OR 17? LET'S SEE WHAT WE CAN WORK OUT. Hope to see everyone at Raush Creek on Aug 6.
