Flex-a-lite is very expensive but a great set-up. It fits your radiator like a glove.

Electric fans are best for what we do. You can turn it on/off when going thru a water hole.

This is my gut feeling on fans. I have replaced fan-clutches on both my rigs with lifetime warranted parts from Autozone. I have about a year and half on the replacement clutches and they are still going strong. I am not a big fan of Autozone (bad pun), but if my current clutch fails, the next one is on the house. My theory on electric fans is, if it quits, you stick a fork in it and your done; the party is over. The OEM style clutch offers the opportunity to kluge fix and go. (Shoe laces, duct tape, girl-friends bra….whatever)…
Another option is to pack a fan spacer, but that is just one more part to lug around.
Ditto on the Flex-o-lite fans.

Personally..I would'nt go w/ an electric fan....I've been on the trails w/ several friends that had nothing but trouble w/ the electrics.....they useually end up getting pulled out to pavement in a cloud of steam......even more have had clutch fan problems..including myself......but they can be rigged easily on the trails....and last for weeks..using zip ties.....I have a flex fan in my YJ now...works great....no problems.......
Flex fan gets my vote....

flex fans are by far the worst thing i have ever used. cool, truck great. But kiss the radiator good bye. clutch is the best thing I've seen so far.
