Tom Code 0340 is an indication of Loss of Cam Shaft position signal to the PCM. The other codes are secondary symptoms of the 340 code. I am sending a section of the FSM via e-mail that may help you out. Did you replace the "Camshaft Position Sensor" I recall a problem with replacement OPD's that didn't have the indexing hole drilled in the correct place. (this is how you set the Cam timing)

Thanks James But the 04 has a different OPDA then the newer one there is no hole! You get a cap that keeps it lined up. I rotated the old one until the cap fit on then pulled it. Put the cap on the new one and set it exactly the way the old on came out! It run like a champ! Until it decides to bog down and shut off! I just bought a reader and cleared the codes. Pulled the plugs to CPS and the PCM cleaned them with QD put on some Dielectric grease and plugged them back in! Time to take a ride!! Update coming soon!

Today, (Mon) I dropped my jeep off into the shop for stuff from RC. Today, Tues back from the shop: Only one u-joint damaged, must have been to conservative on the rocks. Replace rear brakes. Replaced front hub assemblies, (whatever they are). Air filter. Shifter okay. Pretty normal RC ride.

I would HIGHLY recommend Checking/cleaning your connector to the Crank Sensor as well as checking your wiring.. you may have a corrosion build up in the plug or wiring which could cause the loss of signal.

OK I replaced the OPD and CPS as per the code. Same code! Put on another CPS. Same code! As per Dennis I replaced the TPS. Ran awesome for 1hr. Code came back same code. Well I didn't listen to Dennis and bought the TPS at auto zone. So I went to the dealer and bought the $65 TPS and put it on. Same code! So I was thinking why would it run good for an hour. So I put the original CPS back on and NO MORE CODE! So when Dennis tells you what to do just do it! And always buy your sensor at the dealer OEM is the way to go for that stuff! Thank everyone and especially Dennis!
