Working on the YJ today. I ran into 2 problems. Unbolting the leaf spring eye bolts and a couple bolt are frozen (rusted) in the bushing sleeve I tried heat and a large hammer. Only thing thats left is the sawsall but they are grade 8 bolts. Second we were taking off the trans skid and one of the nuts broke loose inside the frame. I figured I'd cut a flap in the side of the frame remove the nut and weld a new nut in and weld the flap closed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Tom Sawzall the spring bolts,,i had the same problem when i did my lift,,,just buy a blade for each bolt,,,as for the belly pan,can you cut the bolt lose and get a new bolt through the frame in any of the holes close by with a piece of wire attached to it??? but your not going ot hurt the frame by cutting and rewelding a flap

It's a corner bolt. I'm cutting the flap and welding the new nut to the frame. Have to do things to make the jeep as safe or safer then new after all my kid will be driving it.

Well I used 3 blades on 1 side of the first bolt and I mean the whole blade. I said screw this and busted out the cutting wheel. Well I cut off the head and tip 15 minutes later I popped the springs out.
