I just ordered a RE long arm kit with everything i need. coils, springs skid plate, brake line, disconnects etc, RE shocks, RE steering stabilizer, advanced adapters SYE, and a Tom woods drive shaft
I also found a new front drive shaft and lights on craigslist. I have to replace the front pinion seal as well.
I should see the kit in about a week. I'll post pictures of my build. I'm feel like a kid on Christmas.. Now i need to find a set of 35's-36's

i have a 99. I have read the d44 and 8.8 are about the same. the 8.8 comes with disc and i can pull them from the junk yard for about $125. On the down side it seems expensive to upgrade them As far as towing i would love to get a trailer. I am working on the wife to trade in my DD for a bigger SUV or pick up that can tow... UPS said the kit will me here on the 26th.. I hope to install it all on the weekend. I will post pictures. PS the on board air still has to go in. found an XJ write up parker.w.tripod.com/xjtech/york.html

;D---- The kit looks sweet Bob. Can't wait to see it in person. I agree, I would feel like a kid on christmas. Only it would be more like a kid waking up in a candy store with the easter bunny on christmas day.

I had some time to work this weekend.. I pulled the trans pan down and replaced the filter. Last time i was out something just didn't seem right.
Today I removed the old trans cross member. I pulled both front springs and shocks. The upper and lower control arms are off. The brake lines are out. I pulled the front axle out. I installed the new upper control arm mounts, trans mount and skid plate. There is a whole lot or drilling to install these. The news skid plates wrap all the way under to the rockets. They bolt to the seam welds under the door. It seems pretty beefy. I cut the old upper control arm brackets off. I just have to grind and clean up.
I noticed some rust on the drivers rocker that i will have to address soon.
Sorry i didn't get any pictures today. i was too dirty to grab my camera. I will try to get some later. Hopefully next week end is as nice. I can finish this up.
