My oldest has a 04 GTI! Well it needed a clutch so my other son and his buddy both graduates of Pennco tech decided to do it. Well they took the output flanges off the trans to make room to get it out. They didn't have the correct tools too get some of the bolts out. (12 point star bits) So they used visegrips and F'D up the whole job! The axle bolt were $25 and a brass tapered bushing was broke and you can't buy a new one. They put the clutch in reinstalled the trans. Well they left the thing sitting for 2 days while I tried the get this bushing. I spent 4hrs searching the net to find this bushing I finally found an article about these flanges and the bushing. It said to reuse the broken bushing it won't hurt. I go to put the flanges in and I had to remove the axles to get them in. Then they're spring loaded so you need to compress them to start the bolt. After cursing for 3hrs it's done! Man that car can smoke some tires! The moral of the story is don't buy a POS car and don't spend $27,000 to send your kid to Pennco tech!

Pennco don't teach you much of anything! They don't spend enough time on any one topic!

They teach you that a flathead screwdriver is a chisel and channel locks are a hammer.
